streaMed CCTV content is different than videotapes in four main ways including pre-approved broadcast rights, pre-digitized content, content updates and semi-annual exchange options. These four key differences allow for our customers to decrease the time between content selection and content integration, the amount of resources the organization has to put towards content licensing and allows for up to date content to always be on their system.
Pre-Approved Broadcast Rights-
Videos have pre-approved broadcast rights for term of 5, 6 or 7 years.
Organizations can work with one content provider for rights vs. multiple providers.
Pre-Digitized Content-
Videos are pre-digitized in MPEG1, MPEG2 or DVD MPEG formats.
Content is a 1st generation output leading to greater visual quality.
Videos can be placed onto existing system for immediate use.
Content Updates-
Videos that are updated or revised within the term of a license are provided at no charge.
Exchange Options-
10% of your video library can be exchanged every 6 months at no charge.
Video that are removed from the general wired.MD library can be replaced at no charge.
5. Where does wired.MD get its content for the streaMed CCTV videos?
wired.MD works closely with expert physicians and nurses in various specialties to create original text and video content. All content is written and reviewed by physicians, nurses and other various healthcare providers and designed to be comprehended by the vast majority of patients. In addition, wired.MD has formed a strategic alliance with Mosby™ Publishing, the parent company of Harcourt Health Sciences™, and Ferri's™ Patient Teaching Guide. Mosby is considered one of the top text content providers in the world. Mosby's text content is the foundation from which wired.MD created many of its initial streaMed CCTV videos.
6. Is it possible to revise or change the content in the videos?
streaMed CCTV videos are specifically designed with content credibility and provider acceptance as the standard. The Mosby text content, which serves as the text basis for the many of the streaMed videos, is widely accepted as a staple in patient education. streaMed CCTV's content, developed by physician and nurse experts, also adheres to the same standards before entering the market. streaMed CCTV's content therefore is a reliable supplementary form of patient education that rarely needs modification. In the event that a video requires modification to better serve a customer or a specific specialty, wired.MD will take steps to develop and release a revised version of that video.
7. What if our healthcare organization wants additional videos for our specialty?
wired.MD offers a "Content Contribution Program" enabling interested healthcare organizations to work with wired.MD to create additional videos by specialty. In some cases wired.MD already has text content to serve as the foundation for the new videos. If a desired video is unique, or obscure in nature, then our physician and nurse staff, our copywriters and the customer's staff can create the text content together. wired.MD underwrites the development of these videos at no cost to the customer.
8. What specialty videos are available now?

9. What specialty videos are in development and when will they be available?
Specialty videos are constantly in development at wired.MD. The development schedule and content is driven by customers and their needs.
10. Can streaMed CCTV help with The Joint Commission compliance?
Yes. streaMed CCTV's content is written and developed with the patient in mind in order to meet PF standards of The Joint Commission regulations. With proper use, streaMed CCTV can improve continuity of care within your hospital or healthcare organization and ease preparation for a The Joint Commission audit.
11. How does the healthcare provider use streaMed CCTV in the healthcare organization?
The healthcare provider uses streaMed CCTV by allowing patients to view videos on their closed-circuit televisions within their hospitals rooms. The videos shown can be based on preventive care, seasonal care, chronic condition care and procedural preparation.
12. How do installation and support work?
Installation and training are as simple as streaMed CCTV itself. For organizations with interactive and on-demand closed-circuit television systems wired.MD delivers pre-digitized MPEG1 or MPEG2 content via DVDs. This MPEG content can then be placed onto the systems centralized server by the organization or by their 3rd party vendor supporting the system.
For organizations utilizing channel-specific routed DVD systems wired.MD delivers pre-digitized content in DVD MPEG format. These DVDs can be provided with multiple titles on a single DVD or individual titles per DVD to further meet the needs of the organization.
Once installation if is complete then wired.MD provides customer support Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm PST. Customer support can assist organizations through providing content updates and facilitating semi-annual exchange options. As always, support is free to wired.MD customers.
