wired.MD®, Inc and Clinical Content Consultants™ Announce Solution Partnership
Video Patient Education Software Developer And EMR Encounter Form Developer To Partner
wired.MD, Inc. announced today a partnership with Clinical Content Consultants who will become a Value Added Reseller of the streaMed® Patient Education Solution. CCC is the developer of unique and robust encounter forms utilized by healthcare providers within the GE Medical Systems Information Technologies™ Logician™ second-generation digital health record system. CCC has developed an encounter form which launches streaMed Patient Education Solution videos directly from within Logician, documents time spent educating, and provides a handout for patients to view the video later in the convenience of their own home. CCC and wired.MD are also in the process of providing links to the streaMed Solution videos directly from within the CCCQE™ disease management forms.
The streaMed Patient Education Solution uses a combination of full motion videos, medical animations, graphical representations and narrative educators to provide supplementary patient education at the point of care. streaMed is used within the exam room, inside of Logician on a CCC encounter form, and at the patient's home to educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans and procedures. After patients view a provider-directed video at the point of care within a CCC encounter form, they then receive a printed text transcript of the video and an 8-digit Information Prescription® code. The Information Prescription Code allows patients and their family members to review the video from their personal computer on an Access-Secured Website customized for the organization following the visits at both low and high bandwidth.

Healthcare organizations customers who will license and utilize the CCC encounter forms with the integrated wired.MD video content can supplement their educational consultations and save time without disrupting the daily workflow of the medical staff. Organizations will also be able to further the documentation of the education provided to assist in greater JCAHO scores and in better overall patient encounter chart documentation. streaMed can be installed directly into an organization's existing hardware and network infrastructure. The CCC encounter forms and the video content within them reside locally on the organization's CPU harddrives or on the organization's centralized server(s).
